Start Farming

Isn't that a beautiful site?  I think it is and so do our boys.
We started to farm on Saturday afternoon.  Papa 4 wheeler decided to start at a field not around the farmstead and the older two were in the combine before Papa 4 wheeler even mentioned if or where we were going.  Kerry, Garrett, and I all drove the other pieces of equipment over. Poor Garrett didn't get a choice where or who he got to go with but he didn't mind at all. It was a gorgeous day and we were so excited to start.  Garrett played in the grass a lot of the day when he wasn't in the combine or playing in the grain truck.
"Mom, I hear the combine coming, can I have a ride now?"
Then our boys' favorite young man showed up to visit.  Blake is so great with the boys and they love him.  He is such a great kid.  Garrett had a ball in his truck.
Then Papa Old Tractor showed up to help out.  He basically helped watch the boys with me.  It was so cute, he wanted to hold Garrett the whole time.  Papa Old Tractor will be 85 years old this year and he is still very active in our boys' lives.  It is great!!
Griffin waiting to get in the grain truck with me to haul in a load.  We have to be patient this year.
 Garrett driving the grain truck.
If you look close you will see three generations in there.  It was so neat.  This would be Garrett's first time in the combine to which he was so excited that he fell asleep not even 5 minutes into the drive.
I didn't get a picture of Gavin because he spent the WHOLE time in the combine except for one short bit.  HE EVEN DROVE THE COMBINE.  I wish I would have gotten it on video but by the time I realized it Papa 4 wheeler had turned the combine and headed back down the row.  Papa 4 wheeler had to sit on the seat a little bit since every time they hit a bump Gavin would lift up off the seat and the head would shut off.  I DROVE THE COMBINE for the first time this year as well.  I had no problems keeping the head going through.  It was a lot of fun!!!  We are ready to go again but both Papas say it is too wet so we are going to have to be patient.
