Tanner's

Every year we make the long trip to Tanner's Orchard to the pumpkin patch. This year was no different other than there weren't as many pumpkins and I spend a whole lot less money this time around. LOL! I love the fall and all the decorations that go with it so in years past I have spend too much money there but not this year. Anyways, the boys had a great time. They both thought the trip was a little too long by their fussing and a little bit of whining but in the end it was worth it. Gavin was so busy in the play area this year. He wanted to do everything and basically could without help. Griffin on the other hand surprised me and was a little timid for some reason. It could have been the number of people or just that he would have to share. Both have their own personalities which is makes them them. Gavin was all about this huge slide and climb tower. I think he could have played there all day. Of course, the first thing they both hopped on was a Ford tractor, Sorry Papa 4 wheeler no John Deere at this place. Griffin was driver most of the time and Gavin bossed him around telling him where to plow and plant. Amazing how much they pick up. Gavin went in the ship, fire truck, bus, hay maze, bulldozer, tractor, and anything else you could climb in and around and slide down. Griffin loved these things called a barrel ride. At first Gavin was really interested to go with Griffin but he soon got too nervous. The year before as the tractor was going he tried to bail out. So I was a little worried about Griffin doing the same but Griffin wanted to go for a "tractor ride" and wasn't the least bit phased by the whole thing. Anything to get to be on farm equipment. He went and loved it. He just hung out in the barrel and was along for the ride. I think he was the smallest of everyone there on the ride. He loves to drive as well so the steering wheel was an added bonus for him. While Griffin was on the ride Gavin hopped on the fire truck and ever since has told me that he is going to be a fire fighter. He looked so cute up there and then he started to tell me all the parts of the firetruck and what fire fighters do for others. He has been talking about it ever since.

I decided to try a collage for the rest of the pictures. Enjoy!

This big picture of Gavin is my favorite.

Penny

So I hope I haven't lost the people who check my blog. I haven't blog in 9 days so I will try to make up for it this week. So keep checking back....

On Saturday we went to Mama Dolphin's to spend some time with her and Papa Steeler. Earlier on Saturday morning, I had given Griffin some spare change I found. He loves to put things in his pocket so we shoved the change down in pocket and he was tickled to pieces. When we got to Mama's I had totally forgotten about it until somehow he wringled his fingers down into his pocket to show Gavin his money. They were playing with it on the floor while I was looking for a recipe. Gavin told us that Griffin put a penny in his mouth, thankfully he watches everything. Before we knew it Griffin was choking on it. We paniced. Matt Matt tried patting him on the back. He can't get it up nor could he get it down (not that we wanted it to go down but being stuck was not good either). He started to puke and still no penny and it was still stuck. He pukes again and still no penny. It came to me that when Gavin was a baby one of the nurses showed me how to treat an infant or toddler if they have something stuck in their throat. So I tipped him upside down on my arm and hit him on the from the middle of the back forward and thank God it came out. He was scared as much as we were. We never want to experience that again so therefore no more spare change for Gavin and Griffin.

Anniversary

HAPPY 60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY PAPA & MAMA REDENNICK!!!

On Saturday evening the family had a dinner for their wedding anniversary in Pontiac. Their kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and some of their siblings were there to help them celebrate their big event.

Their kids

Their great grandkids...notice they are all boys. There are two missing and they are boys too.

Their grandkids....

As many of you may or may not know, I eat lunch with Grandpa and Grandma Tredennick everyday. I have gotten to know them even better than before and they are AMAZING people. You truly couldn't meet more caring, giving, and loving two people. They make me laugh everyday with their stories from the past or just their day to day events. I really enjoy our time together. Their love towards each other, I assume, is just as strong as when they first were married (or it seems that way to me) if not strong and just as happy. I love the way Grandpa still teases Grandma. And I love how Grandma can keep Grandpa in line. We pray they had many more amazing years to come together.

Mama Dolphin

Mama Dolphin came home on Wednesday afternoon. We are so thankful. There is nothing like recovering at home, I'm sure. She still will have physical and occupational therapy at home.

I guess I never did say, Papa Steeler did get out of the hospital about a week and half ago as well.

Dinner on the lawn

On Tuesday evening Kerry was busy so I thought the boys and I should eat super on the lawn. The weather recently has been absolutely perfect plus they are always wanting to be outside. We had a very simple supper on the lawn but they really enjoyed it and loved it. I made PB & J, grapes, cheese, and chips. For dessert we had homemade sugar cookies that were shaped like a pumpkin with faces on them.

I know it must have been a hit because Gavin has wanted to eat on the lawn since. After our dinner on the lawn, we played outside for a long while. Gavin is really starting to get the hang of riding his bike. He wanted to take off his training wheels but he isn't near ready for that just yet. Griffin loves to throw the footballs and baseballs. We finished up the awesome night together with the boys splashing the entire bathroom with water. We can't wait for another dinner on the lawn.

Corn Festival in ElPaso

Last weekend, my two girl cousin's and I went to the Corn festival in their home town, El Paso. Mama Kathy grew up there too. We started off our day with a parade. We are getting really good at understanding the concept that when you go to parades you usually get to watch cool things go by right in front of you and then as an added bonus you get candy. Here is a great pictures of Griffin and I waiting..... Doesn't he look just like me but boy

This the best picture we could get of my two cousins and our boys. ALL BOYS!!! So fun. From left to right, Me, Griffin, Gavin, Brady, Stephanie, Collin, Connor, and Kelly. It is awesome to have cousins that have boys just like mine. Since, I don't have sisters these two are my sisters. I love to get together with them.

Our boys... Gavin is showing me that he got another piece of candy. He actually grabbed the candy himself this year, last year he was too scared.

All of the boys together waiting for for candy.

After the parade, we ate lunch in the park. BOTH of the boys ate an entire hot dog which is the first for both of them. I guess picking up lots of candy and the hot weather helped their appetite that day. Rides followed lunch but we didn't go on many because we were just soo tired. Gavin rode on the jets with the older kids. Griffin and Collin rode on the trucks together.
I think we will be making this an annual event. The boys just can't wait to get with our cousins again soon, I can't wait either.

Talking kitchen

The kitchen Mama Kathy got the boys last year for Christmas talks. It only has a few sayings but I don't think we have heard them all. Yesterday, Griffin was playing with the kitchen, making his own thing, just playing. He walked away for a short while. The kitchen said, "Are you still there?" Griffin's reply, "yeah yeah!". So funny and cute.

Papa Steeler and Mama Dolphin

Papa Stealer was admitted back into the hospital on Sunday night. The doctors discovered he has some blood clots in his lung and a few other things with his lung. They are giving him antibiotics and blood thinner. Hopefully he will be released tomorrow if all goes well for him which we pray it does.

Mama Dolphin started a new treatment yesterday. We are praying this one does better than the other. They also are going to have her do water rehab rather than regular rehab so it is easier on her and her joints. We don't know for sure when she will be out of the hospital but we are taking it one day at a time.

Threshermen's Parade

Sunday after the boys spend the night at Papa 4 wheeler's and Mama Kathy's house for the first time, we decided to go to the Threshermen's Parade in Pontiac. It was my first time, as well as the boys' first time. It was the most beautiful day and perfect weather for the parade. Both of the boys were so tuckered out they fell asleep on the way over there but soon woke up with all of the commotion and noises the tractors were making. The parade started where we sat which was great. Griffin choice of seat was me most of the time but we still enjoyed talking about all of the tractors coming down the road.

Gavin's decided his favorite seat was on Papa Hurt Leg's shoulders. It is a far better view up there when there are people in front of you and you aren't so big to see over them.

Both the boys discovered towards the very end that they were throwing candy out so they finally warmed up to the idea of getting closer to get some.

It was a great parade. I don't think I have ever been to a parade as long as that one but we will be sure to go again next year. Probably get way more candy next year than the one piece we got this year.

Our neighbors, Dave and Mary

We have great neighbors by the names of Mary and Dave. Last week, I had a half day and when the boys wouldn't sleep I decided to take them outside to run off some of their energy. Man, I wish I had half of their energy at times. Mary came out to play as well. We sat and watched them play in the driveway on their bikes, toys, and outdoor toys for a long while. I enjoyed the company and the most comfortable patio chair on earth. Simple things in life. Mary went and got her bird while they played. The boys were quickly amazed by him. They talked to him and he would talk back. It was rather funny for us to watch as well.

Gavin would love to have opened the cage to have him crawl on his arm but he would fly away if that happened. It was easy entertainment to them for a while at least.
The picture below is taken from our second floor and we had to take it up that high to get the entire pumpkin plant in the picture. You see last year Mary had a pumpkin, well it rotted on the bottom before she had time to throw it away. She left the seeds go down where it was to see what would happen. She said if there were any pumpkins that grew on the plant the boys could have them. Well the plant was HUGE and it produced several pumpkins. Some of which are very large. The boys love them. You can actually see one right where Griffin is standing and then there is another one behind him and to the left a little ways.
It's awesome!! As you can tell the pumpkin plant has taken over Dave and Mary's patio and sidewalk. It is amazing how big they get.
