Long lost hoops

A couple of Christmas's ago Gavin and Griffin received a hoop.  They have loved this double hoop that kept track of their score but someone sat in the basketball holder.  This particular person thought that if he sat in the holder he could make more baskets and beat the other person.  Well the hoop holder broke and so the hoops sat.  But sit no more, after Gavin asked Kerry if he would put it up again.  Kerry figured a way to hang it last night.  I impressed.  Kerry can figure out how to do anything.  We didn't even have to buy anything for it either. He took bicycle hooks and hung them on the ceiling then drilled holes in the backboard.  Perfect.  The boys have been playing with it ever since.  It is their new, favorite toy.
Garrett even gets into playing.  He will go get a ball and hold it then he waits until someone lifts him up to make the basket.
Griffin was Superman while he was playing.  :)
The boys even played with it nonstop since they got home.

Walking Garrett

Of course the week that Kerry takes off to go racing in Florida, Garrett decides to take off walking.  I felt badly that he missed out on it so I videoed it on my phone so he could see it.  One night Garrett just decided to take off walking and he hasn't looked back.  We all had worked with him for a while but when he got sick for so long, we didn't bother anymore.  I guess he just wanted to do it on his own time and not ours.  It is so fun to watch.  He now walks everywhere and hardly ever crawls.  He is at the adorable stage where he walks wide legged and a little wobbly.  Too cute and fun!!
(Sorry you have to tilt your head to watch-it is still worth watching)!!

Playing with Murphy

Garrett discovered Murphy's "baby" about a week ago.  He would grab it and throw it like he does with everything.  Murphy would go get it and then bring it back to him.
Garrett thought it was the funniest thing ever.  He would just crack up laughing.  Then Murphy decided he was done playing and didn't want to share with "his baby".  Then tug-a-war began and the laughs and giggles got louder and then all of the boys got involved....

Basketball for Gavin

This past weekend was the first time that I could make it to Gavin's basketball game due to work schedule.  It is a really cool program and he really enjoys playing.  To begin with, they start with a bible verse and a prayer, then the parents and all the attendees make up two lines and the kids have their name announced over the speaker system while they run through the line hitting their parent's and attendee's hands.  It is really awesome for the kids.  Although Gavin says it is really embarrassing, I find that very hard to believe when he has the world's biggest smile on his face while he runs.  The first week (last week) have was playing defense all of the time even when he was on offense so they really worked on this during practice.  So at the game, he did so well playing defense and offense and knowing when to play defense and offense.  After the amazing Illini game, all Gavin wanted to do at this game was make a last minute buzzer shot just like Tyler Griffey and guess what... HE DID.  It was so cool for him.  He also made three other shots.

He gets a little embarrassed when he makes a shot but he will soon get over that.  I love watching him play and it is an added bonus they incorporate bible verses and good sportsmanship.

Twins for the day

Griffin woke up this particular day and wanted all his John Deere stuff on so he dressed himself from head to toe in John Deere gear.  Garrett woke up shortly after him and Griffin wanted him to match him.  So he pulled out all the John Deere stuff he could find in Garrett's drawers for Garrett.

Then Griffin wanted a picture taken.  They love each other and their John Deere gear.
