Kerry had surgery on April 1. I know odd day to have it but it all worked out well. He has had a hernia for the last month or so. The doctor told him he didn't have to have it taken out for as long as he wanted but we thought it would better to do it now then wait. Really, is there ever a good time to have surgery? The earlier in the race season the better, we thought. (I discovered there is never really an off season to racing (; ) So he is off for two weeks and then he is to take it easy for the next six weeks. He won't be able to lift anything over 10 pounds so that means no lifting Garrett. Monday he did amazing well, he felt good and was up and around. In the night and morning hours on Tuesday, it wasn't as good but we discovered we need to stay on top of his pain medicine. On Tuesday, he was up and around helping do a very few things. Today hasn't been so well for him but I'm praying he only improves greatly as the days go by. He did get out and about today. He took a quick trip to see his work. He thought it was a good idea to go outside and get some fresh air. The boys have been really great. Gavin and Griffin have been my little helpers. Gavin took out the trash for me, helped me with Garrett, taken the dog out for potty, and cleaned all the poop up in the yard without being asked. Griffin has helped clean up the table, fed the dog, set the table, and entertained Garrett for a short while. Garrett has slept through the night the last several nights!!! I'm praying Kerry makes a speedy but very full, healthy recovery. It is difficult to see him in pain.
P.S. There will be no pictures because he would kill me if I did.
