Snow Day

On Tuesday afternoon while it was still snowing and we were to get a big blizzard, I wanted to take the boys outside and play for a while. I have never experienced a blizzard before and I really still haven't but oh well. It took FOREVER to dress them and myself to go out to play, I figured we would be out there for five minutes before having to head back inside for warmth. To my surprise, we stayed out for about an hour and Gavin and I stayed out a little longer. Griffin decided it was too cold and went inside with the neighbor, Mary, after about 45 minutes so he lasted a long while too. So thankful Mary is our neighbor. Murphy loves to play and eat the snow so we had to take him out too.

We found several drifts that Gavin could jump in. He loved the snow more than I thought he would. He is becoming more and more like his mom these days.

Griffin on the other hand was just getting over the flu so he wasn't too thrilled about the snow. He got to wear his snow boots outside instead of inside though. Plus half way through the time outside, we had to switch gloves because his got too cold. Both the boys and myself loved to kick and throw snow at Murphy and then wrestle him, Murphy loved it all plus the extra attention.

Gavin fell down walking back to the backyard and thought it was hilarious. He couldn't get enough of it and then he would roll in it. Griffin stood there saying, "Get up Gavin! You Okay!"

Griffin looking at Murphy like he is crazy. As you can tell he just got done rolling all over in the snow. Griffin didn't want to have anything will rolling in the snow.

This is the best picture we could get of all of us playing. This is right before Griffin wanted to go in and all he wanted to do was get in Mary's house. Gavin and I ended shoveling out the driveway with a shovel and a rake. Gavin wanted to use the rake rather than the shovel because the shovel was too heavy. Daddy was rather impressed when he got home but he ended up using the snowblower too. We ended up staying at Mary's for a snack and a little play time with her before walking back home. We had so much fun and Gavin continues to ask when we can go outside and play again in the snow.
