The boys and I started our baking on Tuesday. My hope, now don't hold me to this, is to make two or three types of cookies or candy a week before Christmas is here. Of course all while listening to Christmas music. Kerry loves to listen to the music.... Right! We made peanut butter blossoms at the start of this week. Griffin didn't stay interested for long but Gavin helped out for most of the time. We took turns pouring in the ingredients which sometimes can be challenging for a three year old no less a one year but I wanted them both involved. After everything was stirred well, Gavin would roll the dough in the sugar. He did very well to my surprise. Griffin took off by this point to go play with Legos. Any chance he can get Legos to himself he does. So I put them in the oven and we waited. Gavin's favorite part of making these cookies was peeling the foil off of the Hershey Kisses. I told him he could only have one, I think he snuck in a couple more. Watching through the glass part of the oven door was Griffin's favorite part by far in between playing. Gavin and I both put the Kisses in the cookies at the end. We had the most fun!! Truly we did. Hopefully this will be a tradition we can continue on. Gavin told me that he would like a kitchen for Christmas so that he can make cookies and supper for us all. Kerry won't allow it but it won't stop me from baking with them. P.S. Thanks Mama Dolphin aka Kay for the cookies sheets, they are awesome!!

You tell Kerry that there is NOTHING wrong with a boy having a kitchen!!! Both my boys like to "cook" and they are still tough and manly! I have two friends over here who's husbands do all the cooking...:)
Yum yum!! Your cookies look great. Thats really neat that the boys helped out. Kenzie loves helping me make cookies too, I think she just likes to eat the dough:) I need to get started on making my cookies!!
These pictures are so cute, even the one with Kerry and Griffin, that's one for the memory book.

Wow what a good ambition!!! The pictures are super cute....they look so excited..I remember when I was littl and I got to help pour in the ingredients, that was so awesome, because that meant that I was big!!! I'm sure your boys feel like big helpers...and Griffin looking in at the oven, is so cute...the bottom picture looks like you guys are all having a blast...now i expect to see at least a little sampeling of these:)
Love the pictures of the boys and you. I agree teach those boys how to cook, nothing wrong with that at all they will make someone a good husband some day. You never know maybe if you let Gavin help with supper he would eat more if he was able to help make it! You are so welcome for the cookie sheets, they do work great I just wish that I would of gotten more of them.
Love from Colfax
