Ice Skating

Thursday morning was a little icy outside. Kerry had salted our steps but not much further from that. This particular morning, for the first time, Griffin decided he would put on his own shoes. I know it is getting sad how quickly he is catching on to stuff and learning so much. It is a really good thing but hard on me. Also this very morning he decided he wanted to start to walk to the van instead of being carried. Like many of you already know, I carry Griffin EVERYWHERE. I love to do it but I realize he needs to walk on his own many times too. At times it is just faster for me to pick him up and walk so I do. Anyways, he wanted to be a big boy Thursday. I got everyone ready to walk out the door and go. We all did great on the steps and even part of the drive way and then Griffin wiped out. I couldn't help myself from laughing which made him laugh and then Gavin got to laughing. Griffin decided that it was better to try to walk with my hand rather than all on his own. He told me and Gavin in between laughing that he was ice skating. And he was with his shoes on, he just scooting with his feet. He almost fell three more times but thankfully I had his hand so he never hit the actual ground. Gavin never did fall which was good because he just doesn't have any padding at all.
