Dying Easter Eggs

I found this awesome activity on Familyfun.com for toddlers to dye Easter Eggs so I thought I would give it a try. I wanted to do something that didn't require dripping the eggs into a cup and get all that mess. It is suppose to turn out to be a tie dye egg. You put them in a colander, sparkle them with vinegar, and drop a couple of drops of dye on the eggs. Of course we had to start with Gavin favorite color John Deere green. You shake it all around, then you do the hokie pokie-no you don't but you do shake them gently.

Then you let them dry for 30 seconds before you put another color on them.

Griffin picked blue for the next color. He liked to make one drop come out and then he would just throw the whole thing on the eggs.
Then you let them dry again for 30 seconds.
Griffin liked to blow to make them dry. Then we added yellow and red. There were really ugly in the colander but the last step was to rinse them off with water and then turned out awesome and pretty. Really it turned out way better than I thought.
Here we are showing off our colorful, tie-dye eggs.
Double click on the photos to see the a close up. Super easy activity and so much fun for the boys. I hope everyone has a very Happy Easter!!!

I'm going to keep this one in mind for next year. Ryan hates the mess of the dye and while the twins do well with it Ethan does not:) This would be perfect for him and I think that the twins would love doing it as well! Happy Easter:)

Those turned out great and looks like it was easy enough for the boys to do without making a big mess! Now the fun part: eating all of those eggs! Yuck!
