Last Thursday, we found out that Gavin is going to need a little surgery. He will have his adenoids and tonsils removed and also tubes put in both ears. Gavin failed four hearing test in total and when they looked in his ears from the end of March to last Thursday there was fluid in there each and every time. The specialist explained that Gavin isn't able to drain the fluid on his own so the doctor will need to place tubes in his ears in order to do that for him. Although when the tech. did the test on the "brain" part of his head to see if there was a problem there, he scored above normal so it is definitely for all the fluid. I was then convinced, I was a little upset about him needing surgery so I needed a little push. The adenoids and tonsils are being removed due to his tonsils being extremely large for his size and blocking his airway thence the reason he breathes so heavily through his mouth all of the time and the extremely loud snoring we have all grown use to. Doing the surgery will also eliminate the holding his breathe for eternity (or so it seems) while he sleeps. He is scheduled for May 7 in Champaign. Please keep him and us in your prayers that day because we all know that I will be a nervous wreck.
