After a van full of bags packed that morning (which by the way I don't suggest-YOU will forget a lot more than you think), food prepared packed, some snacks packed, a couple stops to go the bathroom, a stop for lunch, several cups filled up with milk, a tiny nap (of course Gavin fell asleep 15 minutes before we got there), and Finding Nemo played just twice, we arrived at The Wilderness. It was beautiful inside all wooden and country like which is right up my alley. The first day we decided to take the short 10 mile walk to all three inside water parks just to see what each one had to offer. Of course we didn't bring a stroller so guess who carried our little 35 lb solid little boy around all of the parks including several sets of stairs. Yes, you guessed it ME. It was a great workout though. The second park we visited, we decided it was time to bring the boys in right away so we went down a family slide. It was COMPLETELY dark through the entire ride until the end. Both of the boys did really well but they just didn't want to go on it again. The last park we visited that day was our absolute favorite of all throughout the weekend. It just had a lot to offer for both adults and kids. By the time we got there though the kids including the older boys were getting hungry so we thought we would call it a night and return the next day. After a great night sleep and buying a little umbrella stroller so Mommy didn't kill her back the whole time, we were off again for another day set for fun. We decided we would try the very first park that we ever went too but WOW! I haven't seen so many people packed in one place at one time so we thought we would go back to our favorite one for the morning into afternoon hours. It also had several body slides Matt Matt, Lacy, and I were able to go on. They were scary at first but so awesome that I had to test it out two times in a row just in case I didn't get the thrill of the ride the first time around. Yes, don't even ask I screamed the entire way down. Would you expect anything less? The boys enjoyed the small area to play.
As you can tell by their chattering teeth, the water was a little bit cool for them. I think if they moved around they were fine but they would stop and then get cold.

So I sat them on the heater outside the park to warm them up. Look Gavin's lips were so cold they turned black. Just kidding, my camera did that but with him being so skinny he was so cold that his lips could have been blue. Right before heading for a little lunch, we wanted to take Gavin and Griffin on another family ride. Another completely dark one but they are so worth it. Let me tell you, I even get a little scared but I get to laughing that I can't stop. Crack me up. We are working so hard on potty training Griffin, well he told me that he had to go potty and I would have had to run down the stairs, across the park, find the bathroom, and you know the story so I asked if he could hold it. He told me, "sure Mommy" Well he obviously couldn't and a short time later I felt a warm stream down my side. I asked Griffin if he peed on me and he said, "No Mommy I pee on myself." How could you not laugh after that. Okay maybe it is one of those funny Mommy and son moments but I laughed. Of course I washed off on the ride... I know what you are thinking... We went back to our room for a little lunch, a little nap, and then dinner out. We headed back to the busiest park just to see if we were thinking NOT like everyone else and go there while others were at dinner. We were able to enjoy this park. The boys' favorite part about that park was the 5000 trips around the lazy river while Mommy helped make sure neither little boy got wet because Griffy told his Daddy he just didn't want to get his hair wet which is really funny in a water park.

Trinity and Gavin went up and down this slide for a long while. They really enjoyed chasing each other in a circle until Gavin got too cold. Of course, on the second day we made Gavin go down a "big" slide meaning a slide that we couldn't go down with him on and it took longer then a millisecond to go on. The slide had some curves but no darkness. Kerry sent him down the first one and he did great. I took him down the second one and he bawled the ENTIRE time down. I have no clue why but he did. Must be the positive effect I have on him. LOL! Of course after I sent him down that slide, he was done going down Big slides and was ready to move on.
Oh the boys would laugh and stick their heads in the water and then come up just to see if the other one had come up yet. Gavin would walk on his hands around the pool like an alligator. Kerry and Matt Matt waited in line for an hour for the ultimate ride which is where you get in a tube, go down a steep drop, then go into a toilet bowl thing but you didn't go in a full circle just high on each side, free fall for a short while, and then out you go.... They said it was like only 8 seconds and not worth the hour wait but I think they would do it again in a heartbeat.
The room was awesome. It had everything you wanted in it and was extremely homey and sound proof being that we had several high school girls outside our room and we couldn't even hear them. My favorite part of the room was the fireplace that we turned on as often as we could but Matt Matt had a different plan for the temperature in the room. At night, the boys would go in spurts of hyper to calm to hyper to calm but they had a new friend to play with so that is always something exciting. It was alittle sad to say that Griffin's favorite part of the whole trip didn't have to do anything with the water parks. You could rent horses and go on trails on the property and he loved to see the horses. The more the better.... He loves animals especially horses.
This is a picture of them all watching the horses on the trail.
Griffy crawled up with Matt Matt one night. So precious!! In the end, everyone slept well from playing around. We had an amazing time and can't wait to go again. It is so fun making memories and having a great time!!!
