1st Day of Kindergarten and Preschool Screening

Yesterday was Gavin's very first day of Kindergarten.  I thought I would bawl but I didn't.  I really think it helped that he went to Preschool last year.  I was a little sad because it seems time has flown by and I'm just not sure where it went.  This is the best pose I could get out of either of them that morning.  Gavin was thrilled to go because his friends are in his class and he got the "cool" room.
Gavin is one of the last ones to get on the bus and I think that is one of his favorite parts about school; that and learning to read.  Before the bus was even at our home or anyone was around, I asked Gavin if I could have a hug and a kiss and he told me "absolutely not".  (Tear-tear).  I really think that is a boy thing.  He didn't want anything to do with it so I just let it go.  His school got out two hours early so he did get to eat his first lunch there.  Hot dog, cottage cheese, and peaches to which he said he ate all of it.  I don't know about that but I hope so.  At the dinner table, he was non stop talk about his day which was so cute and fun to hear.  Griffin really missed him all day long.  Griffin told me that he was going to give him a big hug when he got home and he did (that would have been a great picture to take but no I didn't get it).  Griffin went to preschool screening the same day.  He was really tired when we arrived so I didn't know how it would go.  He does like to play by himself a lot which he did and he likes to stay close to me which he did that as well.  They really thought he might benefit from going to preschool because it would help him socialize more.  Even though he does go to daycare, he takes a really long time to warm up to things when they are new to him.  I will know by Labor Day if he is going to go to Preschool or not.  I missed my boys all day long and was thrilled to have some quality time with them when I got home.  They were off to bed early though because they had to get up early and our evenings seem to go quickly.
