Farming
Papa 4 wheeler finally entered the field. He had a little rough time in the beginning with his new combine but I think he has all of the jitters worked out of it now. The first day, while Gavin was in school, Griffin went and rode in the combine as long as it was working which wasn't very long. The next day I think the boys were out there for four hours straight helping combine beans. They absolutely love the new(er) combine especially since it has a buddy seat. I think they actually know more about farming than I do which doesn't take a whole lot but they take it all in. They are learning from the best. They have been out there helping Papa 4 wheeler every chance that they can get. It has been harder this year just knowing we have to be out there without a great woman, Grandma Ruth, but we are all working through it. When Papa 4 wheeler planted the crop, she had just gone in the hospital and to think just a few months later we are harvesting it without her. She would bring us food, haul in, help move equipment from one field to the next, shovel crop off the side of the road that spilled out, and whatever else was required or needed with a huge smile on her face. She was so amazing and it brought her great joy to see the generations out there working together on their land. I pray she is smiling down on us all now as we get through this harvest. I sure do miss her everyday but especially this time of year.

Your boys may not know more about farming than you do, but i'm certain they know more than I do :) They look so cute in the tractor. I'm also glad you have such pleasant memories of your Grandma Ruth, sounds like she was an inspiration! :)
