Birthday in Chicago

It was my birthday weekend so I decided to do something new and without the boys.  Don't get me wrong I love my boys (including Kerry) but I thought it would be fun to get away for an evening.  So my aunt offered to take me to Chicago on Friday night.  I had made arrangements for the boys to go spend the night at different places since Kerry was going to be racing and I was off with my aunt.  It was a pretty quick trip until we got into Chicago then we hit no stop traffic but needless to say we got there safely.  We stayed in a condo that had amazing 360 degree views.  Below is the view out my bedroom window.  See the Sears Towers in the background.

This is the view from the living room.  You can see Lake Michigan and Solider Field among many of other places.
Then this is another view from the dining room.
As soon as we got there, we changed our outfits and headed out to dinner.  I got dressed up a bit and even wore high heels, man it has been a long time since I've done that.  My aunt had made reservations at a really nice restaurant (hints the reason for dressing up)on the Chicago River.  We had a great dinner and did a ton of people watching.  The evening was beautiful so we decided to head back to the condo and go for a walk on the Magnificent Mile.  We enjoyed our walk and looking at the buildings.  After about an hour or so of a walk, we headed back to the condo and stayed up really late or should I say early in the morning just talking.  I think we ended up going to bed at 3 in the morning.  By 7:30, I was up because I received the cutest phone call from Gavin and Griffin to tell me Happy Birthday.  I was extremely tired but it was well worth that wake up call.  They were so excited to tell me.  We headed home around 10:20 after a quick stop at Starbucks for coffee and breakfast.  It was a great Friday night.  I'm especially thankful for all those that helped out so that I could make a quick get-a-way.  We will be heading up there again because we had that much fun although it may not sound that way on the Internet but it was an amazing time.
