We have a little bird nest above our light on the garage. I have been watching the robin go back and forth making the nest but we didn't see any babies until the other day. We made sure not to touch the nest or eggs but there are four eggs in there. Gavin and Griffin couldn't be more excited about it.
They didn't want the mommy bird to have to leave so much to find food so we thought of a plan. I went and bought bird seed and then we got a threes stick from the yard and peanut butter. We covered three sticks in peanut butter and then put the bird seed on the stick. The seeds stick to the peanut butter like glue but not as hard. I stuck the sticks in a near by tree the mommy flies to when I open and shut the garage.
Today we discovered she is eating the bird seed because the sticks were clean. So now we just put a dish of bird seed by the tree. The boys are having fun observing what happens.
