All In A Weekend

We had an unusual busy weekend this past weekend so we were so thankful for the extra day that we got. On Saturday, Kerry went to his first Illini football game with Uncle Matt Matt. I heard they had a great time. The little boys and I went to a baby shower at my cousin's house, Theresa's house, in Gridley. My cousin, Marie, is due at the end of November which will be here sooner than we all think. Theresa has tons of cattle for the boys to see and they absolute loved watching them in the window. Gavin was pleased to see that someone else his age likes tractor as much as he does.
Griffin is walking towards me after talking to the cattle through the window and Gavin is playing with a tractor at the top of the stairs. He wanted to bring it down so badly but it was huge and I didn't want anyone especially a pregnant mother to trip over it so after much arguing Gavin left it upstairs.

Next, on Sunday we went to our first wiener roast. I haven't been to one in a long long time. We had a great time. The wiener roast took place on a farm as well but with tons of farm equipment left out for Gavin to see. Gavin had to take Papa 4-wheeler to see all of it. He even got up in the equipment as well. His favorite is the combine even though it wasn't a John Deere. We all enjoyed a hot dog over the fire and the best part were the s'mores at the end of the night. I had forgotten how very rich they can be. Gavin did find a couple of friends to play with. He loves to chase people so they chased each other in the shed. Griffin walked around to see people and tried to eat rocks, gross! Papa 4 wheeler flung him up on his shoulders when he started to get bored and that cured that. We enjoyed the food, company, and another place to see all of our boys' favorites.

Monday was a day off for me since it was Columbus Day. We spent the morning and part of the afternoon over at a friend's house playing with their toys. Gavin loves their battery powered John Deere lawn mower. They race each other in a circle or play demo derby. Gavin just laughs and laughs. If he gets tired of being on the lawn mower, he would get off and chase the other little boys around while they run their battery powered toys. It was adorable.

Last but certainly not least, Gavin rode in the combine with Papa 4wheeler while actually combining corn. Papa said that he was grinning ear to ear and couldn't stop. The combine until dark and then Gavin also got to put everything away which is also another favorite. Another with farming is his favorite. You see I'm telling you he is going to be the farmer in the family. Griffin is too little to ride in the combine but he does enjoy a good 4 wheeler and tractor ride. His "big" brother gets mad though. It was a great weekend and I really enjoyed the extra time with the boys.
