So I have not done a good job at updating and informing you all. I do apologize for that. Papa Steeler did get discharged on Friday at about 3:00 p.m. Although on the other hand, Mama Dolphin was admitted to the hospital on Friday (yes the same day) at 5:00 pm. Mama Dolphin started to feel some numbness in her fingers on Wednesday and then in her legs on Thursday. It progressively got worse in the morning on Friday. She stumbled at work and knew there was something not right. She felt tingling in her fingers and legs and was numb on her tongue. She also had no reflexes. Very scary for all! Dr. did diagnosis her with Gullain-Barre Syndrome. It can be a slow or fast moving syndrome but then it takes quite a bit of recovery time. Most all patients do recovery fully from it but it effects all patients differently. It can get to the point where you are paralyzed for a certain period of time but worst of all it can go to your diaphragm and effect your lungs. We are thankful that the Dr. did catch hers in time and started to treat her right away and it didn't effect her in that way. Gullain-Barre Syndrome has effected her legs, fingers, and tongue at this point hopefully nothing more. Yesterday she started physical therapy which involved walking the hallways with a walker but she was unable to do the stairs. We will see what the days will bring.
We will continue to pray for both of their recoveries. I will try to do a better job with the updates...
