On the way home for the hospital one night this week, Griffin bit a hole in his bottle. I was in a panic because Griffin only had one bottle left and I wasn't buying anymore so we had to switch him over to the sippy cup. It was actually a blessing because who knows how long I would have waited to do it. Anyways, we got home and made Griffin throw the entire bottle away explaining to him that he could not have it anymore because he bit a hole in the nipple. He went to bed tired as can be and at 4:00 am in the morning decided he needed his bottle. Kerry offered him his sippy cup but Griffin was rather determined for his bottle so we filled his last bottle with milk. He drank it and we went back to bed for a short while. I decided at 4:00 am in the morning it just isn't worth fighting him. So in the morning, I had discussed my plan with the sitter to not give him the bottle and continue with the sippy cup until he took it. So she did. He was rather stubborn about it. It was at lunch time and he hadn't had anything to drink so the sitter decided to call me to ask about nap time with the sippy cup and then also how long to hold out. I could hear him in the background crying for his bottle. Be proud of me I didn't cave. I told her to continue until I got there after work. It was so hard on me and I felt so horrible but knew it had to be done because he could bite a hole in the last bottle and then I would be in the same position. About 15 minutes later the sitter called back to tell me that her son had gotten him to drink out of the sippy cup. I could hear everyone including all of the daycare kids were cheering that he finally drank out of the cup. The daycare kids were just as thrilled he was drinking out of a sippy cup as I was. He has refused it a couple of times but he is getting better. Although I must say that his sippy cup has a bottle like top so our battle is not over yet but it is a start.
Also, Griffin the last couple of days has been wanting to sleep in Gavin's big boy bed so I thought maybe this is the time to switch him for crib to big boy bed. So last night Kerry and Papa 4 wheeler put the bunk beds side by side as twin beds and he slept all night in the bed without any problems. He was so happy to fall asleep near Gavin. Gavin on the other hand for the first time in almost 9 months didn't sleep at the gate and slept in his bed all night long. Awesome!!!
How sad my boys are growing up but they are so much fun.
