Trip to the Dells

Papa Hurt Leg and Mama Sharon invited us to go to the Wisconsin Dells with them last Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Neither Kerry or I nor our boys had been there and we always wanted to try it out so we took the opportunity. It was GREAT! We went to the indoor water park all three days just due to weather and Gavin liked it better than the outdoor one. I think Gavin liking it more had something to do with the water being warmer indoors. We got into the indoor water park the first afternoon and evening and both boys were so excited to take off. The slide below was one of Gavin's favorite. There were so many to pick from but he liked this one the best. At times it was difficult to get him to move from it.

The next picture is the first curved slide that he went down. I was afraid that if the water splashed up on his face he won't want to go down anymore but I was totally wrong, he loved it even more. He really enjoys the water and this was perfect for the both of them. You won't see a picture of Griffin going down any slides because he didn't like because he still had a great time. Griffin liked being lazy on the lazy river with either Papa or Mama, but I never got a picture of that. Somethings it is hard to get a picture when you are in the water yourself and your camera isn't waterproof.
On Monday, we went to a ski show. I highly recommend going to see if you get the chance. Gavin's favorite was the skiing but there was a horn guy that was awesome and several others great acts. The horn guy had all kinds of horns sewed to his suit and he place music with them and he was funny. That act was my favorite. Here we are getting ready to watch the show.
Afterwards, we went out to eat at a restaurant called Buffalo Phil's which provided these great hats for the kids. Gavin won't keep his on, the little stinker.

We went to the water park as much as possible. The boys would try something new at least everyday when we were there. They did have a "family" slide that several people could go down at the same time together. Griffin and Gavin did go down that large slide a couple of times with us or Papa or Mama which is was really fun. The wait got long at times for two little boys.
I grabbed this picture quick one evening we were swimming. The water was nice and warm in the evening. Gavin would find a friend here or there to play with and Griffin just enjoyed himself running up and down on the swallow end of the water. Toward the end of the trip, Griffin discovered this huge tree that he could crawl through. When he first got in I went to the other end to help him get through it if he needed me to and I forgot my voice would echo inside of it and scared him but he went right on back through.
Kerry and Dylan got to spend some good time together on the huge slides, arcades (yes Kerry still is a kid at heart), and go-carts which was a nice change for both of them. The last night we were there we treated the boys to this awesome cookie, candy, ice cream, etc. kind of place in the hotel where they could pick anything they wanted to eat. The boys absolutely love it. Kerry got a chocolate covered banana, Gavin got John Deere rock candy, Griffin got a pretzel with M&Ms on it, and I got a Carmel apple. It was delicious. We appreciated the get a way. And I was extremely grateful for the extra time with my boys. Anything for my boys.....
