I thought I would share a couple of cute little things the boys have said about the new baby.
Awhile ago, a friend stopped by and in conversation with the boys she had asked them if they were excited about having a little brother and they both jumped up and down and said, "We are going to be BIG brothers soon." with huge grins on their faces.
When asked what we should name the baby, Gavin says, "Don't name the baby Gavin please." For some reason he thinks that will be the new baby's name.
Their grandma, Kathy, decided to let them watch "A Baby Story" on TLC, which by the way isn't a good idea for little ones to watch. Gavin got freaked out because he thought I was having three babies instead of just one. Gavin seemed to think that the Mom on the show looked just like me. He cried the next day because he was so upset, He says, "All I want is one more baby brother not three more baby brothers, then there will be too many." Poor boy, after explanation, he understands that we are pretty sure there is only one in there.
I think I have told this one before but when Matt Matt had their baby, the boys thought I was going in to have mine. They were so excited, jumping up and down-the whole bit, and asked when they got to meet their brother. I told them not for a short while.
They both are curious to know how HUGE my belly will get. They both seem to think I'm big now.
My favorite: One night at dinner, Griffin asked where did my baby came from. I told him that God gave Mommy and Daddy a baby. He then asked "How?"... I told him that He put the baby in Mommy's tummy (tummy isn't right but I do my best). Then Griffin asked, "Did it hurt? Did you cry?" Then he gave me this awkward look like he was trying to visually figure it out.
Lastly, the other day going out to my parents both of the boys were asking if I was going to have to push out the baby or if they could just cut me open and get the baby out. I was amazed they even knew of such a thing let alone know there were two ways for the baby to come it. It was a rather interesting conversation and they are no longer allowed to watch "The Baby Story." By the way, it was never allowed by me.
