George

Gavin decided that since we haven't named the baby that he would.  He thought George was a good name and since it started with a G then it was perfect.  Well, Kerry said that he really didn't like that name for the baby.  To which, Gavin said "when are you going to name the baby, we can't just name the baby "Baby Tredennick" for his whole life, can we?"  It was really funny but Gavin was serious.  I think he would like us to hurry up and name the baby or he probably feels he will have to.

1st Day of Kindergarten and Preschool Screening

Yesterday was Gavin's very first day of Kindergarten.  I thought I would bawl but I didn't.  I really think it helped that he went to Preschool last year.  I was a little sad because it seems time has flown by and I'm just not sure where it went.  This is the best pose I could get out of either of them that morning.  Gavin was thrilled to go because his friends are in his class and he got the "cool" room.
Gavin is one of the last ones to get on the bus and I think that is one of his favorite parts about school; that and learning to read.  Before the bus was even at our home or anyone was around, I asked Gavin if I could have a hug and a kiss and he told me "absolutely not".  (Tear-tear).  I really think that is a boy thing.  He didn't want anything to do with it so I just let it go.  His school got out two hours early so he did get to eat his first lunch there.  Hot dog, cottage cheese, and peaches to which he said he ate all of it.  I don't know about that but I hope so.  At the dinner table, he was non stop talk about his day which was so cute and fun to hear.  Griffin really missed him all day long.  Griffin told me that he was going to give him a big hug when he got home and he did (that would have been a great picture to take but no I didn't get it).  Griffin went to preschool screening the same day.  He was really tired when we arrived so I didn't know how it would go.  He does like to play by himself a lot which he did and he likes to stay close to me which he did that as well.  They really thought he might benefit from going to preschool because it would help him socialize more.  Even though he does go to daycare, he takes a really long time to warm up to things when they are new to him.  I will know by Labor Day if he is going to go to Preschool or not.  I missed my boys all day long and was thrilled to have some quality time with them when I got home.  They were off to bed early though because they had to get up early and our evenings seem to go quickly.

Fairbury Fair

It is that time of year again, the last week of summer where our fair comes into town.  I am thankful for it but boy after five days of it, I am glad it is gone.  We took the boys to the races on Wednesday night and of course they love it.  On Thursday night, Gavin rode rides.  Griffin won't get on them for anything, all he wanted to do was see the animals which was fun too.  Gavin rode a couple new rides to him this year which I was a little bit shocked with.  He is riding with his second cousin or something like that in the picture below on the helicopers.
Then he tried out the worm ride....  I think he thought that ride was a joke.
Then the jetskis....  You have to love those buzzer things they get to push the whole time.

Then came the bigger rides once he warmed up.  He rode this roller coaster which was a lot of fun and a little jerky it seemed.
Yes that is his best friend, Tyler, and him holding up their hands as they go around.  Too funny!!!
I was glad to see that Kerry got in a ride or two as well.  Friday night, we had an adults night but the boys did go to the Demo Derby with Papa 4 wheeler and Mama Kathy.  They stayed the night at their home and said they had a lot of fun at the "bumper cars".  I'm glad they really enjoyed themselves.  Saturday night was another exciting night of races for us all.  And then Sunday was the last day at the fair and our last day too.  Griffin decided to ride rides 5 minutes before we were going to leave.  Of course I didn't bring my camera that day because I was sure he was never going to ride a ride but he rode most all of them with Gavin.  Of course, we found Papa 4 wheeler and he helped contribute to the ride fund.  We had a great time and I was so happy to see the boys enjoy the fair this year.  Good thing it only comes once a year!!

Cast is Off

Griffin got his cast off last Monday.  He did really well and was rather thrilled about it coming off of his arm as you can tell with all his smiles.  They used a saw which was a little scary for me but it was amazing, it would cut through the cast but not when it touched skin.  The nurse cracked it like an egg shell and off it came.  I didn't realize how gross his skin would look underneath.  He said it was rather itchy so him and Gavin scratched it until the nurse could wash it off.
They took another X-Ray to see whether the fracture line was healing or not to which they discovered that he still has a fracture but they didn't want to cast him any longer.  So we went home with a partial, removable cast just for when he plays but he can sleep, eat, and do little things without it.
I was a little nervous being the nurse told me that if he falls on it or hits it hard then we need to come back in right away to make sure his fracture line has not worsen.  I think Gavin was just as glad to see the cast go as Griffin was.  On Friday, our sitter called to tell me that Griffin had some unusal bruising and it was very swollen so down to the nurse/doctor again to have it looked it.  I was a little bit of a wreck because we had to go to the hospital to have the X-Rays done and I couldn't go in with him but he did outstanding.  He was fine and I was sent home without a partial cast and told the bruising and swelling was part of the healing process.  He will have those kinds of symptoms for the next couple of weeks.  The last couple of days has really proved that right.  His little arm looks horrible but he is moving it like nothing happened.  It is hopeful that in four weeks he will be able to straighten it all the way out but we will wait and see.

1st Bonfire

We had our first bonfire ever.  It was a lot of fun.  Friday night was a perfect night for it, a little cool but not too cool that you had to be on top of the fire.  Kerry and Jeff were in charge of the fire and they did a perfect job.  We even roasted marshmallows to make smores for the kids.  The adults had homemade skillet cookies which was amazing.  You should never feed one to a pregnant woman because now I want them all of the time.
The boys and Curl kids had a great time playing in our little play set area.  They made tunnels and of course all the boys raced.
They were pretty funny because all the kids would get up in this tower thing and sit to eat their smores.
We had a very relaxing and fun time only bad thing is the smell of bonfire on your cloths and hair but I definitely see us doing this again.

Full of Emotion

Between last night and this morning, I'm full of emotion.  I'm talking every emotion possible.  It could be the pregnancy hormones or it could be the fact that my first born is going to Kindergarden or it could be the sadness in the community lately of death of the young and not so young but not old people or it could be I miss my grandma so much still everyday.  Who knows....  I registered our Gavin for Kindergarden yesterday.  I mean we really are going to do this.  I didn't know how soon this moment would really come.  I mean it seems not that long ago that I was being flown over to St. Francis because he decided that he wanted to meet everyone 6+ weeks early.  He was so anxious to come into this world.  There was a lot of prayers said over him because he seemed to have a few issues but God worked them all out.  He is the one that made the best thing happen to me besides my husband, whom I adore and love deeply, Gavin made me a MOM for the first time!!  I fell in love with him in an instant because we were so blessed with him and I knew there was going to be much blessings in the future.  Now he has and is grown to a caring, loving, and amazing little boy and brother.  I'm not just saying these things because he is our child but he truly is all of those things.  We are thrilled he will be going to Kindergarden and it helps me a little that he was able to go to Pre-K last year.  There are so many things he is planning to learn and he can't wait to do so and I can't wait to experience them with him.  I'm sadden because Grandma Ruth would have loved to see both of the boys' accomplishment.  She would have been in the classroom helping out all those around her just because that is how she was.  You could tell her love for all around her because it just exploded out of her.  I think she is the reason why our Griffin is such a cuddler.  She would cuddle with him all of the time and sing to him.  Griffin may be entering PreK this year, only time will tell but if he does, we will be thrilled for him as well.  He is just as much of a blessing as Gavin is to me.  I love all of my boys (that includes Kerry) so very much and I pray they know and feel my love for them always.  I'm excited for the new little boy to join us in all the fun too.  I wonder often if he will be like Gavin or more like Griffin or will he be just like his Daddy.  They all have great qualities but I do know they are or will all be handsome just like their Daddy.  I'm so full of love, feeling of blessed, and thankfulness that I just thought I would share my thoughts this morning.

Recent pictures of Evan Dale

My brother, Patrick, shared some recent pictures of his and his girlfriend's son Evan.  He is growing very quickly and he is super adorable.
He has definitely started to pull himself up on everything.  He must have wanted to help make dinner one night.
I thought I would share a few pictures since I haven't for a while.  Hope you enjoy!!
