A Week Has Past

It has almost been a week since Gavin's surgery. We were up before the sun came up which I didn't know there was such a thing. I'm not a morning person. We arrived at the hospital apparently the same time someone else was going into labor. Gavin was very concerned why the woman out in the waiting room was having a belly ache. We were in the waiting room for a short while when they came in to give Gavin some relaxing medicine but it didn't work in time. The nurse had to carry him into the surgery room. Surgery went very well. You could hear him down the hallway when he came out. He was rather upset about the IV being in his arm. He wasn't made aware of the fact that it was going to be there. After about half hour, he was ready for his Popsicle and some juice and ready to get out of there. He had talked with his Papa Hurt Leg on the way to the hospital and they had talked about someone giving him a call when Gavin got out of surgery and after a short time in the van coming home, Gavin remembered we were to call Papa. So Gavin talked to a couple of his Papas and Mamas on the way home. He felt great that day but had a couple of rough days afterwards. We are still having a couple rough moments but he is doing rather well. His voice did change which is rather funny but super sweet. The scabs are starting to form in the back of his mouth so this time is the more critical time. He can't break off those scabs otherwise they might bleed and cause other problems. So we continue on our two week of soft foods. All in all he is doing well and we are thankful for the surgery.
